We welcome everyone to take a moment and send your birthday wishes and thoughts to Ms. Barbara Eden, today, her birthday!”
Eden talks about how she landed her most famous TV roleIt’s not clear how Eden celebrated her 89th birthday, but we can imagine she managed to have fun still in the midst of the ongoing pandemic. She last shared a photo back on the 4th of July, showing everyone how she was celebrating that day. Last year for her 88th birthday, she actually opened up about how she got her most famous TV role, Jeannie, over a bunch of tall brunettes.
“They were testing all the gorgeous brunettes in town,” she says of the 1965 casting call. “I mean, they were all fitness girls! Six-foot tall! Dark hair! Great bodies! And I thought, ‘Well that leaves me — the short blonde — out.” At age 34, she secured the role of Jeannie and made history with this timeless classic
